Our Innovation Centre is a cutting-edge, creative hub for packaging innovation and sustainability, and turns what is traditionally a long and sometimes complex process completely on its head. We can provide a complete packaging design-to-prototype (either virtual or 3D) solution on the same day.

The Centre features a Subtractive Rapid Prototype CNC milling machine while the SOLIDWORKS 3D CAD software delivers powerful design functionality to speed up the design process. It also houses PowerMILL specialist machining software for the production of complex packaging shapes and formats more typically found in the aerospace, automotive, medical device and toolmaking industries.

Being involved at the early stage of a pack design or managing pack re-design, we can provide feedback and advise on value engineering for:

• Modifying a product shape or design
• Downgauging product weight to reduce plastic and make savings on materials
• Material blending – increasing the volume of recycled content
• Decreasing plastic content
• Designing and prototyping packaging for a new product

Our Design Studio manages graphic artwork requirements for decorated products from initial concept to sign-off. This means that we can assist brands by controlling the artwork process and add bar codes where required.

Projects typically include creating design work for Desto packaging, direct print and in-mould labelling products.
