The family-owned business has come a long way since starting out as a home-based company, in 1993. It now provides innovative, sustainable, award-winning packaging solutions to supermarkets, multi-national food manufacturers, foodservice and fresh produce companies, across the length and breadth of Britain.
We are delighted to be selected by the UK Department for Health and Social Care to manufacture disposable aprons to supply NHS front-line staff. PFF’s sector knowledge and experience meant that we were well placed to work closely with the DHSC to move quickly through the governance processes. This enabled us to establish the new machines, take delivery of the specialist plastic film and to ramp up production of the aprons which we are producing at our Washington site.
PFF has continued to operate throughout the pandemic, supporting the UK’s food retail sector through the production and supply of food packaging, and now, setting up capability and capacity to manufacture a new product line.
PFF are pioneers in the plastics industry and we pride ourselves on being at the forefront of the latest manufacturing technologies and cutting-edge processes. PFF is a vertically integrated business where we make our own materials. Our expertise is vast and covers downgauging, blending and trialling of fully recyclable plastic products. We are strong advocates for upholding the reputation of plastic and the complete recycling process. Whilst it is a frequently maligned material, it is easier to reprocess and repurpose than many others.
We are immensely thankful to the people who work here. The PFF leadership team provides strategic planning and guidance but on a day-to-day basis, it is our staff who enable the business to perform 24/7 – and to thrive.
