We anticipated that the HCSA could be a great opportunity to speak to senior healthcare sector procurement decision-makers about PFF Health’s UK-made products. We were not disappointed.
The conference was well attended, with a lively buzz and delegates taking a good interest in exhibitors’ stands.
The conference programme focused on “Recognising the Value of NHS Procurement.” NHS trust leaders thanked the NHS procurement community for the work that they do.
Sustainability and resilience were the two dominant themes including the importance of secure and shorter supply chains in the UK and more sustainable product alternatives being under scrutiny. It was also acknowledged that, historically, procurement and supply chains have been frictionless and have just “worked” and how the pandemic has severely tested this.
It was stressed that the experiences and lessons of the past 18-24 months must be remembered and acted upon, and the conference highlighted many of the fantastic achievements during these challenging times.
Accounts of people having to travel to vet practices and other care-related institutions to collect desperately needed PPE stocks were shared which highlighted the extreme steps that were necessary to ensure continuity of supply.
It was an excellent thought-provoking conference and we plan to exhibit at the 2022 event, in Manchester.
