As a food packaging manufacturer, PFF supply packaging to many different types and sizes of businesses including business start-ups.
Being entrepreneurial ourselves, it is always great when PFF is asked to produce packaging for a fledgling company, such as Little Bandits. Jessica Harris’s son, like so many children, has food allergies. When she struggled to find healthy snacks that he enjoyed, Jessica created her own recipe using a coconut cream base and fruit mix. She then established the Little Bandits brand, to market and distribute the products to help other families, in a similar position.
PFF’s role was to manufacture 86-gram unprinted pots for the new range and to deliver the first supply of the packaging in advance of a product launch by Asda, in July 2020.
Jessica said: “It was great to be introduced to PFF at the start of my journey. It’s been a steep learning curve and PFF were patient from the start.”
The Proper Oats Company is another recent start-up business that PFF has supplied with Desto packaging. Our art studio also supported the development of the label design for the brand-new product range. Suzanne Ferreira is a mother, qualified nutritionist and successful competing bodybuilder. She is also a trained Accountant and when her contract with a Government agency was cut short, Suzanne took the opportunity to set-up her own company. Jessica’s idea came about when she was unable to find ready-to-eat porridge or overnight oats that were made with natural ingredients and had a low sugar content.
Suzanne developed her own recipe for Overnight Oats; a no-cook, chilled version of porridge which combines Skyr, wholegrain oats and real fruit puree. The 190g Overnight Oat pots are stocked in Sourced Market at Skelton Lake Services, Leeds, independent retailers and farm shops throughout the region and online at the Proper Oats website. Suzanne is now in discussions with a major online retailer and a health food company.
